Harris Computer Systems is pleased to announce the purchase of all the assets related to the Student Information System (SIS) and Financial Management software of Tenex Systems, Inc.

OTTAWA, ONTARIO and PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA, January 10, 2006 Harris Computer Systems (“Harris”), a leading provider of software solutions for utilities and local governments, is pleased to announce the purchase of all the assets related to the Student Information System (SIS) and Financial Management software of Tenex Systems, Inc. (“Tenex”). Tenex is a leading provider of SIS and financial management applications to K-12 school districts and educational institutions throughout the United States.

Harris President and CEO Jeff Bender stated, “We’ve been interested in entering the K-12 school market for some time.  The market dynamic and structure are comparable to our existing operations in local government and the specialized nature of SIS is similar to our competitive strength in utility billing.   Tenex provides Harris with yet another avenue for growth and expansion.  We will build on Tenex’s strong, well established customer base and leverage their flagship product line enhanced for today’s technology requirements. Tenex solidifies our position as a local government solutions provider and provides the market with a vertically-focused vendor with solutions for organizations of almost any size.”

Former Tenex President, Don Roskos stated, "We are very pleased to announce our acquisition by Harris. Tenex now has an owner who understands our business, has the resources to expand our product offering and take our xSphere and bSphere products to new geographies, and who can also take Tenex to the next level. The experience Harris brings gives us confidence that our customers, employees, and business partners will continue to succeed.”

Harris will continue to build the Tenex brand and is committed to the continued investment in and development of the Tenex flagship products xSphere and bSphere. Equally importantly, Tenex will continue to support studentSphere, accuSphere, taxSphere, and LetterGrade.  “Tenex provides Harris with a solid footprint in both the student information and educational financial management segment. We already have several educational institutions running on other Harris software solutions and we will look to leverage the technical expertise and business process knowledge inherent within Tenex to enhance our service offering to all our customers,” explained Harris Vice President, Bryce Cooper.

Cooper added, “Tenex represents a significant growth opportunity for Harris. In the near term, we will be focused on completing the Tenex contracts in process and continuing our deployment of xSphere, a browser based and multi-platform version of the Tenex SIS. Going forward, we will look for synergies that will enhance our competitive position across all segments and ensure that our customers continue to receive solution suites and customer service that meet their evolving requirements.”

Tenex will continue operations from their existing offices in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia and will operate as a separate business unit of Harris, focusing on continuing its customer service excellence.
